My families are all European in origins. I have Irish, Scottish, German, Swiss, French, English roots, with the earliest imigrants coming in the late 1600's. I can trace back to most of my grandfather's, especially on my parental side, who fought in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars of this new country. Most of these pioneers were settling the Virginia and West Virginia areas. Most all of my family were colonial folks. I have relatives on both sides of my family who've been killed by Indians when the country was first being colonized. The Irish ancestory wasn't until the 1800's. My Irish ancestors came from Ireland via Ontario, Canada then into Iowa. Also, County Galway, Ireland to Maryland. I am not a 'Mormon' and not doing this for religious purposes. I am doing genealogy to help to connect to family members who want to be connected to me. I love history and love seeing where my family came from in Europe.
